15:30 – It's a rainy afernoon and I feel alive. Days like these remind me of when I was in high school. My friend Clinton and I would meet at the start of the school day (usually Wednesday - our sports day) and look at each other and ask "city?". Then we were off.. We would catch the 59 tram into the city and would visit as many record stores as we could. Central Station, Missing Link, Pipe Records, Gaumont. Gaslight. And then visit Brash's and Allans to play on all the synthesizers I could never afford but desperately wished I could. I would then return to school promptly at 1530 for my detention. Said detention consisted of me being "forced" to spend an hour in the computer lab. I remember wishing I could have more than an hour. I'm sure I've told this story before, but in Year 6 we didn't have a computer teacher for the first few weeks, and so the school (Essendon Technical College - or Essendon Tech as we called it) paid me $20 per class! (from the Chaplain fund IIRC). $20 doesn't sound like much, but this was a lot of money for an hours work, for a 16 year old. When we eventually got a teacher (Mr Kusimano) he helped me get my very first proper job after high school - as a computer programmer! This was back in 1986 mind you, and that's a whole other story. Anyway, I just bought a "new" Roland JV 1080, and thought it would be nice to create a throwback track. I also used the JD-800 quite a lot. The eagle eared among you will note the wailing guitar patch. I tweaked it a little, but not that much, as it's pretty much perfect.
21:45 - I have Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy playing in the background. Up to Episode 6 now and nearly done with the track. For some reason I had the Thames theme in my head when writing this. I think I was going for something British. This track will probably remain instrumental.
