The Electricity Club reviews Silicon Dreams 2017 Festival

SILICON DREAMS 2017 Review The Electricity Club

Legendary Synth-Blog "The Electricity Club" have reviewed the Silicon Dreams 2017 Festival that Parralox headlined at in July.

Click here to read the article on The Electricity Club >> http://www.electricity-club.co.uk/silicon-dreams-2017-review/

Extract of the article :

The electronic musical festival returns with an impressive lineup…

This summer saw the return of SILICON DREAMS, the electronic music festival whose roots were founded in the Vintage Computer Festival back in 2010 (an event which also featured OMD performing live). The festival returned in 2013 with both Heaven 17 and Northern Kind in performance, an event which TEC writer Jer White summed up as “synthpop’s still alive and as vibrant as ever”.

Once again curated by Silicon Dreams’ founder Simon Hewitt, the 2017 event ambitiously took on the task of staging 6 acts who pull from both established artists as well as performers who are just embarking into the world of electronic music.

The venue of choice for this year’s event also stepped up a gear with the Liverpool’s Philharmonic Hall Music Room setting the stage for the return of Silicon Dreams.

Special thanks to Paul Browne

Subculture is our 9th studio album, featuring some truly amazing guest vocalists and performers including:

Marcella Detroit (Shakespeares Sister, Absolutely Fabulous, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band),
Johanna Gervin,
Louise Love,
Peter Wilson,
A7-H,
Lillia and
Ian Burden (The Human League).

The Subculture album is divided into Side A (Red) and Side B (Blue).
What do the colours mean? We took a leaf from one of our favourite bands (The Human League) and colour coded the songs according to their style. Red is for Dance and Blue is for Pop.
We've been busy working on Subculture for the last year, and we are all so proud and pleased to finally release it to the world! There are a variety of styles on the album, but the main influence here is Italodisco, with a dash of 80s and 90s dance.

Holiday '16 is the latest installment in our annual cover album series and our 10th studio album.
Louise Love features on the album. Holiday '16 includes a variety of our favourite songs. Trust me when I say we had a short-list of over 50 songs to choose from, so it was difficult to narrow down on a final selection. But thankfully it means we have several more years worth of songs to make!

Remixes 2 is a collection of remixes that Parralox has made for other artists. This is a Limited Edition CD available ONLY with the purchase of the Deluxe Edition of Subculture (now sold out).

In 2017 the first single released from Subculture will be Electric Nights, feat Johanna Gervin on lead vocals, with Roxy, Johnny X and Louise Love on backing vocals. There will be an EP released with many amazing remixes, and so far we can confirm remixes from Pete Hammond (Stock/Aitken/Waterman), Will Alonso, Oren Amram, People Theatre and Bluepint with many more to come.

So it's going to be a very musical Xmas and an even better 2017!

Much love..

John, Johanna & Louise.
